My Favorite Art Supplies of 2024: Watercolor & More

As the year wraps up, I wanted to share some of my favorite art supplies from 2024. From gorgeous watercolors to juicy markers, these tools have made my creative journey this year both enjoyable and inspiring. And they’re great choices for anyone looking to explore watercolor, improve their painting skills, or add some new supplies to their kit.

Garima’s book emphasizes the importance of a daily painting practice, making creativity a small yet essential part of your day. I love how she provides simple tips on staying consistent and making painting a habit, even when life is busy. Her projects are beginner-friendly and come with pre-drawn sketches and color guides, making it easy to dive in and start creating without overthinking.

Not only is this book visually stunning, but it’s also incredibly practical. Pooja walks you through how to recreate beautiful geometric shapes, floral patterns, and more. Her calm, step-by-step approach makes it feel as though she’s painting right alongside you. It’s a wonderful guide for anyone looking to expand their skills in pattern creation and add a touch of elegance to their work.

3. Ohuhu Alcohol Markers Brush Tip - Double Tipped Art Marker Set (48 Colors)

I can’t believe I hadn’t tried alcohol markers until this year, and now I’m completely obsessed! The colors are rich and juicy, and I love the versatility of the brush and fine tips. This 48-pack offers a great variety, perfect for adding vibrant colors to coloring books or illustrations. I highly recommend these markers for anyone looking to explore a new medium.

4. Holbein Artist’s Watercolors Set of 12 (5ml Tubes)

Holbein’s watercolors are a bit of an investment, but the quality is worth it. These paints are highly pigmented, smooth, and offer rich colors that blend beautifully. They’ve been a joy to work with, and I used them in all of my fall-themed watercolor videos this year.

5. Prima Watercolor Confections Watercolor Pans - Pastel Dreams

If you love soft, delicate colors, Prima’s Pastel Dreams palette is a must-have. These pastel shades are ideal for subtle, dreamy paintings—especially for spring florals, one of my favorite subjects! The colors add a gentle, whimsical feel to any artwork, and I’ve had fun experimenting with them. Check out the videos here where I swatch these paints and showcase how they look in different projects.
